Philippines

06

I was not supposed to go on the Philippines but I met a very good Filipino friend during the Ha Giang Loop and he convinced me to give it a try. So I decided to visit him and his country for the last two weeks of my trip.

I spent most of my time diving there. I had the unique chance of diving with thresher sharks for my birthday and this will remain one of my best birthday. We woke up at 4 a.m to take an hour boat to arrive on the site. We dived for 45 minutes and saw sharks but not only... a cute little cuttlefish wandering like a ghost kept us company on the way back to the boat. And then back on the boat, we celebrated my birthday with some traditional Filipino rum and organized a crazy barbecue on the beach.

Diving is actually the reason why I didn't take that many picture of the Philippines: I spent most of my time underwater! The underwater world there is so diverse and colorful that you just want to spend all of your time over there.

I was also very surprised by the quality of the food. Many people I met on the road told me such good things about the Philippines apart from the food. I personally loved their food but maybe I didn't stay enough to get bored of it.
