North Thailand

01

Thailand is the very first country I visited. Coming directly from France, I had no idea of what to expect. Actually, I might have skipped this country if it is was not for my friends.

I started by the north of Thailand from Bangkok to Pai, wandering the streets of Bangkok and Chang Mai looking for some delicious street food, visiting the temples of Ayutthaya and Sukhothai by bike and appreciating the chilled and relaxed vibes of a small hippie village called Pai.

The first days I spent in Bangkok were quite confusing but Bangkok is a city you learn fast to appreciate. I met amazing backpackers there that I followed all the way to Pai  where I learnt how to drive a scooter for the first time.

A year later, I came back to visit the south. Even though this was not as good as the north, I kept amazing memories of it. My first dives in Koh Tao, my first full moon party in Koh Phangan, the horrible whiskey from Koh Samui... and of course many many excellent Thai massages!!

I was very surprise by this country! I was expecting Thailand to be a little superficial. But at the end, people are the kindest and food is the best I tried so far. I was surprised to find so many beautiful temples.

Thailand is way more than just a party country. It has a rich and complex history, a sophisticated and diverse gastronomy as well as a very ancient and powerful culture.
